Truck Driving Academy

This 4 week course program is offered in English and Spanish. It is designed to prepare a person to obtain their California Commercial A Driver License. This course provides classroom instruction with emphasis on rules, regulations and techniques. Daily laboratory instructions include; behind-the-wheel simulation driving, along with Driving Range activities, which include public street and highway driving.

Students are able to take Commercial Driver License written and driving examinations at the California Department of Motor Vehicles as a class activity.
The Truck Driving Academy curriculum will assist our students in sharpening their skills in a safe, interactive, virtual environment. Designed with patent-pending technology, the SAFE•Sim Truck Driving Simulator puts our students behind the wheel and challenges them to drive through a virtual world of busy interstate highways, narrow two-lane highways, bustling city streets and dangerous mountain roads. This will provide our student with high-risk training that is critical to incident and crash reduction. Videos outlining systems components and responsibilities will also be included in the curriculum. The applied concepts taught in class will be used while driving a vehicle.

Shoreline’s Truck Driving Academy will prepare you for a Commercial A Driver’s position, enabling you to operate tractor-trailers, transporting on flatbeds, doubles, walking floor trailers and end dump. Whether it is short haul or long haul, you too will have the opportunity to live your dreams as a Driver.
